Focused on national rural revitalization strategies, Yunnan Rural Revitalization Development Research Institute was established according to general requirements of ''industrial booming, ecological living, rural civilization, effective governance and a well-off to conduct research on nine fields and implement "441" rural revitalization action plan (Famous Products in Villages Project, Talents in Villages Project, Beautiful Villages Innovation Project, Rural Grassroots CPC Building Big Data Project, one "agriculture, science and education" integrated service system, and one Yunnan Professional Farmers College).

The Industry Research Institute gives full play to the role of think tanks and catalysts, actively integrates into the main battlefield of Yunnan,s agricultural modernization development, actively serves the local economic development, steadily promotes poverty alleviation, and innovatively serves rural revitalization. It has provided the agricultural industry planning preparation services for different places, organized the formulation of "Development Report of Yunnan Plateau Characteristic Agricultural Industry" for three years in a row, formulated characteristic agricultural development planning for over 10 local governments, such as Pu'er, Diqing, Ankang, Honghe, Maguan, Lancang and Guangnan, and enterprises like Guohui, Tengchong Rosefidl, etc., in a bid to guide the healthy and fast development of local characteristic agriculture.
